Meditate, Heal, Create, Repeat: Your Portal to Bliss Awaits!

“I have a vision where all people are at peace, free of illness and suffering, and they are fed and housed…

A world where every child is loved, nurtured and able to learn and develop their talents…

Where the heart is more important than the intellect and wisdom is sought over wealth

A world where equality, fairness and compassion rule…

A world where all nature is revered and honoured; animals are treated with the utmost kindness, and plants, trees and crops thrive…

Waters flow clean and clear; the air is fresh, pure and life-sustaining…

Joy and laughter fill the air, and we are, each of us, fulfilled physically, emotionally and spiritually…

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

So be it.”

This is an excerpt from this week’s NEW Guided Meditation, Cultivating Self-Acceptance and Love, which I wrote some time ago. Neither the vision, nor the sentiment has changed for me one iota.

If anything, it has grown stronger, more urgent, as we face the physical, emotional and psychological “totally-out-of-sanity” or “unraveling” we are experiencing and witnessing today, globally.

And I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s over the top.

Here’s my advice, for what it’s worth: There’s only one thing to do about it all:

Go within. Find your portal to bliss; heal, then create, or “Be the change in the world you want to see”, as the great sage and my personal hero, Mahatma Gandhi taught us. Then repeat.

Why? Because…

All Healing, Change and Creation Start from Within

Let’s explore that idea.

I was impulsed to share this particular Guided Meditation with you as I was contemplating my time with the Rinpoche I spoke about in my previous Blog Post, Why Meditation is Like Cultivating a Garden, and Do Cats Meditate? Cheeky, I know. But I’m sure a few of you had a good giggle. Spoiler alert: There’s another little giggle waiting for you at the. ned of THIS post too. 😉

Back to Rinpoche. There are actually 2 separate encounters with 2 Rinpoches in that Blog Post…

I’m referring here to the second Rinpoche; the one I met through a fortuitous string of events, and with whom I was deeply honoured to have developed somewhat of a rapport. It felt like “friends”, however in retrospect was probably more “Master- student”, or perhaps a was really a combo of both.

This Rinpoche was a great healer. For many years already, he had regularly traveled the globe, eagerly and compassionately receiving all the sick and wounded who came to see him, seeking his miraculous healing gifts.

His healing ability, or “superpower”, happened through him saying some mantras over a smallish rock he would hold in the palm of his hands. Within about 5 minutes the rock would change its state and become so hot, it would sear the skin of anyone it touched, though not his.

He would touch this hot stone to various body parts of the hundreds and hundreds of those he received, causing the spontaneous and often full healing of the afflicted seeker.

The Many Become One

During one of our visits, and having witnessed the Rinpoche’s healings yet again several times, I could no longer hide my burning curiosity. I looked at him with inquiring eyes…

With what I would call an impish grin (as I found out later that he had a wicked sense of humour and loved a good belly laugh over just about anything else in pleasant company, other than dry ribs – go figure!) he called over his Interpreter, and asked me to come sit on the floor, directly in front of him…

My excitement became palpable: It’s not every day you get schooled by a Rinpoche! Lol…

He took one of his healing rocks and handed it to me. It was stone cold. Duh. He then said through the Interpreter that he would be reciting several mantras over the rock that took him 15 years of solitude in a cave to learn how to recite. That’s no laughing matter.

I waited patiently as he proceeded to hold the rock in the palms of both of his hands and chanted several mantras under his breath.

About 5 minutes passed. He opened his eyes. Through the Interpreter, he asked me to hold out my hand.

WIDE EYED (because I KNOW what that baby is charged up with!) I reluctantly did so. The Interpreter said, “Make it go from one hand to the other, like, as you say, ‘hot potato’!” And Rinpoche dropped the rock in my hand…

Oh yeah! Hot, it certainly was, but I could play hot potato with it without getting seared, as I did for about a minute, before I pretty much tossed it back at him…

Image courtesy of the Smithsonian Institute; Chimps May Be Performing Rituals at Shrine Trees, Smart News: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/chimps-may-be-performing-rituals-shrine-trees-180958301/

No, that’s not me. But it is how I felt… Lol! Let’s carry on…

Rinpoche’s eyes were dancing with glee. I could tell he was getting a kick out of schooling me – and equally out of sharing the philosophy and spirituality behind his hot rock-healing process with me.

But the deeper, burning (sorry, couldn’t resist!) question remained. Ok, so you can heat up the rock, but how does that heal anyone?

I could tell that the Rinpoche could see that my eyes, and my mind, were hungry for an explanation, which he was so very kind as to grace me with then, and for which I will remain humbly grateful for eternity…

It was his explanation that awakened my soul/spirit/being to one of the most esoteric and fundamental aspects of humanity:

We are all ONE, and that it was through his setting, then harnessing the intention of healing the many (who are suffering from the same condition or affliction) in the rock, the touching that rock to ONE of the many, that his healing method consistently worked

Simultaneously healing the MANY who are in essence already ONE (though they may or may not be aware of it) was the fundamental necessity of thought and therefore the essence of the healing.

In other words, the genesis of the healing was through Rinpoche’s kind, loving and compassionate INTENTION, setting the stage, so to speak, with his mantras, invoking the energy of the healing process to begin, then carrying through with his intention of healing the MANY through the ONE that was already the MANY and the ONE.

This type of healing happened, and still happens, as Rinpoche continues his healing pilgrimages across Canada and the US, in his ongoing quest to support the orphanage and monastery, rather monasteries, now, I believe, that are in his care in Tibet.

So what’s the message? I reiterate:

Meditate, Heal, Create, Repeat

Let’s get “sciency” again. 🙂

Meditation incorporates a variety of techniques. One of the simplest and most effective is meditation through visualization, also known as “creative visualization”.

It refers to ways that affect the outer world via changing one’s thoughts, and is the basic approach for positive thinking and optimism, or the tendency to take a favorable or hopeful view and be confident about the future.

In other words, visualization is the technique of using one’s imagination to visualize specific behaviours or events occurring in one’s life. (Not much different from the intention Rinpoche set to heal ALL through the ONE, and the ONE through the MANY.)

Recent scientific research (of which there is a plethora) demonstrates how practicing meditation can affect the mind, brain, body and behaviour in ways that promote health and well-being.

In particular, creative and visual, or “Guided Meditation”, is frequently used to enhance performance and reach personal goals, whatever they may be.

In one of the most well-known studies on creative visualization in sports, for example, McCormack, F. 2006, Russian scientists compared 4 groups of Olympic athletes in terms of their training schedules.

They discovered that mental images can act as a prelude to muscular impulses.

Image courtesy of http://wondrlust.com;
10 Reasons Why Every Athlete in the World Should Meditate

Group 4, with 75% of their time devoted to mental training, performed the best.

The same conclusions have been obtained while investigating visual imagery used in other sports, such as golf, rugby, cricket and tennis.

Consequently, visualization can be a tool that athletes use to get their minds in shape for competition, as well as a tool that anyone else can use to set goals and find ways of achieving them.

Meditation through visualization boosts confidence by allowing people to picture themselves winning, healing, achieving, or whatever they choose to visualize.

Based on these findings, it is apparent that we are able to train the mind through creative visualization, and the ability to do that grows stronger the more one mediates.

In her PHD thesis, submitted to the Graduate Council of Texas State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of
Master of Arts with a Major in Health Psychology, in May 2015, entitled THE EFFECTS OF VISUALIZATION & GUIDED IMAGERY IN SPORTS PERFORMANCE, Tracy C. Ekeocha, B.S. wrote:

“To excel in any of these sports, just like anything one does, requires persistence in training and practice. But for some athletes, there is more to training than just the physical aspect. Some athletes strongly implement
cognitive (mental) training methods in their preparation to enhance sports performance.
..

For instance, sports visualization is a method essentially aimed at building up the athlete’s confidence and self-belief to overcome performance anxiety. It is designed to remove negative triggers and replace them with positive thoughts, which can sharpen a person’s focus and create more confidence. Some athletes, especially professional and collegiate athletes, have been known to use imagery and visualization techniques as an advantage during training and competition.

While several of these cognitive training techniques have played an important role in recent and past studies, the one that has heavily drawn attention in the world is 2 visualization and imagery (commonly referred to as guided imagery).

Utay & Miller (2006) stated that the use of guided imagery dates back more than 2,000 years and has evolved significantly during the past century (as cited in Kress, Adamson, Demarco,
Paylo, & Zoldan, 2013, p. 39)…

Guided imagery techniques contain detailed and vivid images that are retained in the mind that produce healing and well-being.

Furthermore, the consistent use of these techniques causes a learning or conditioning effect, so the negative triggers can diminish as the positive physical changes can ultimately become available at all times the individual chooses to use them.

Guided imagery is slowly being acknowledged in the world of sports and athletic competition…

There is valuable information on previous history and case studies involving guided imagery and if people became more aware of that information it could increase the popularity of these exercises in future sports and athletic competition.”

Visualize, Heal, Achieve, Create. Repeat

This is a slight variation on the title of this Blog, but it’s an apple that doesn’t fall far from the tree. Especially since we’re talking about creative visualization and Guided Meditation.

And speaking of which, I mentioned finding your portal in the title of this Blog Post. Let’s explore that.

The image above, rather the Andromeda galaxy, is something I like to focus on to help me slip into the varying depths of my inner dimensions. For some reason, it resonates with me, rather calls to me, like it’s my home away from home.

Lying just over two million light years away, extending my consciousness towards it in meditation allows me a feeling of great expansiveness, and allows me to mirror – and visit – that expansiveness within me. Powerful stuff.

INSIDE: That’s where all the real goodies lie… not in anything you can conjure in the 3D, dense world, which has drained us – especially empaths – practically dry.

If you’re one of them, you know exactly what I mean. If you’re not, I’m still pretty sure you know what I mean for one challenging reason or another and you’re drained pretty dry yourself.

I encourage everyone to find their own portal. Use any kind of creative visualization imagery to help you connect with it.

There are no wrong images! Even a donut works! Except that might be slightly distracting… Nyum, nyum… Lol.

Go through it your portal of choice, connect with your “silent passenger” and allow it to guide you to hour exquisite higher self; the one who’s really in charge; not your small-egoic self…

Give in, surrender to the beautiful void that is all of us, here, there, everywhere, together on a healing journey – SEPARATELY, as ONE, and as yet, as ONE, yet separately… (Shhhhh! Here’s a secret: Not for long!)

Let it replenish you and recharge you.

Accept yourself, great one, as you are, and love yourself, for you are, in essence that; LOVE.

May your next warrior pose help you stand at the ready – body, mind, spirit and soul: Times, they are rockin’ and a’shakin and a’changin, dear ones…

Meditate, Heal, Create. Rest… and Repeat.

Pineal Secrets Revealed and "The 21 Sense Salute" Through Interoception

If you were taught in school that humans have 5 senses, taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing, you’re 16 short of a 21 Sense Salute. Or possibly even 28.

It all started, perhaps, with Aristotle’s De Anima, Book II.

Chapters 7 through 11 were expressly devoted to the exploration of the senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, and they molded our historical perception of our sensory capabilities.

Beyond the 5 “traditional” Aristotelean senses, there’s a whole new world – nay galaxy – of human perception currently being boldly explored where no person has explored before.

Our “Outward Senses”, resulting from touch, are called “Somatic Senses”.

They’re based on the experience of receptors associated with the skin, muscles, joints, and viscera.

Our “Special Senses” include the senses of smell, taste, hearing, static equilibrium, dynamic equilibrium, and sight.

Our “Internal Senses” are called “Interoception”.

Much like going into meditation, they’re the awareness of inner body processes, including becoming aware of the breath, feeling hot or cold, feeling satiated or hungry, feeling comfortable or uncomfortable, becoming aware of the heart beating, the chest rising and falling, and the like.

More about that coming up. For now, let’s make sense of some lesser-known senses.

According to Cynthia  McKanzie, MessageToEagle.com Staff Writer, there are far more than just the 5 traditional senses, including:

  1. “Equilibrioception”: the sense of balance that helps prevent humans and animals from falling over when standing or moving;
  2. Proprioception”: the perception of one’s body in space or the body’s position. To put it into perspective, proprioception is the sense that is actually tested by walk-the-line or finger-to-nose sobriety tests. It is through “Proprioception” that we move into “Interoception” and then into meditation, which we will explore shortly. Continuing on with the 5 traditional senses:
  3. Thermoception”: the sense of heat and cold;
  4. Nociception”: the ability to feel pain; and…
  5. Magnetoception“: the ability to detect magnetic fields.

Cynthia goes on to say, “Familiarity is part of our recognition memory. A strong sense of familiarity can occur without any recollection, for example in cases of deja vu...

…more and more scientists are becoming convinced some humans are able to acquire knowledge without proof, evidence, or conscious reasoning.

Scientists who study the phenomenon say it’s a very real ability that can be identified in lab experiments and visualized on brain scans.

“Deja vu??”

In the words of the inimitable and formidable force of comic nature, Jim Carrey, “Alrighty then!” NOW THERE’S A WHOLE NEW WORLD of extrasensory sensory perception!

Deja vu, at its core, is a state of inner awareness and split-second connectivity to simultaneously occurring timelines, often brought on by a more cultivated and curious awareness, ultimately through meditation.

When deja vu occurs, you’re briefly experiencing or intuiting a concurrent timeline, and not the one you find yourself in for the most part. Otherwise put, it’s a glimpse in this lifetime of a previous or yes!, perhaps future or simultaneously occurring lifetime.

So it’s not about seeing the future when deja vu occurs; it’s about seeing the past THROUGH the future, or the future through the past or the past or present through a concurrent timeline.

I know that takes a second or two to wrap one’s head around, but there it is! And I’ll write more about that in upcoming posts.

More about “intuition” and “extrasensory perception” (which is off the scale of perception) coming up. For now let’s keep digging!

If all of the above isn’t mind-blowing enough, the Arts & Humanities Research Council in the UK are currently exploring the possibility of humans having up to 33 senses.

Here’s an excerpt from a Blog post found at https://sciculture.ac.uk, on the 5 sense status quo:

“Modern cognitive neuroscience is challenging this understanding: instead of five [senses] we might count up to 33 senses, served by dedicated receptors. Instead of simplifying how we experience flavour merely into taste, research suggests at least two separate ways in which flavour information is sensed. Touch can be pleasant, painful, thermal or pressure related; with separate sensory fibres and pathways for each aspect of how we feel through our skin. Similarly, how we “see” can be broken down into colour and contrast vision, or neural pathways that deal with the nature of the object or where that object is in space.”

The truth is, the “current scientific understanding” of the human body is that we have anywhere from 9 to 33 distinct senses, based in 3 overall categories. Rudolph Steiner posited those 3 categories in the late 1800’s.

The 3 Overall Categories of Senses

Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925), was an Austrian philosopher, social reformer, architect, economist, esotericist, spiritualist and clairvoyant.

He was the founder of “anthroposophy”, a movement based on the notion that there is a spiritual world comprehensible to pure thought but accessible only to the highest faculties of mental knowledge.

Steiner listed 12 human senses in his Three Lectures on July 22-24, 1921, entitled, Man as a Being of Sense and Perception, GA# 206.

You can see them all in the diagram above.

In Meditation and Concentration, Three Kinds of Clairvoyance, Schmidt Number: S-3045, Steiner wrote, “Now it is essential that anyone occupying himself with spiritual science should recognize exactly the value of spiritual scientific activity as such, and its relation to the personal strivings, which through meditation and concentration of thought, feeling, and will-impulses, or in any other manner, lead man into the spiritual world.”

Deeper and Deeper Down the Rabbit Hole We Go

Googling The Sixth Sense

Go ahead. Try it.

Google “The Sixth Sense” and you’ll get pages and pages on “‘The Sixth Sense‘, a 1999 American supernatural psychological thriller film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The film tells the story of Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), a boy who is able to see and talk to the dead, and Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis), a child psychologist who tries to help him.”(Wikipedia)

If you haven’t seen the film yet, it’s definitely worth a look. It created quite the stir in its day, and it’s layered visual texture, not to mention the surprise ending, make it worthy of even a second watch.

“ESP” or “extrasensory perception”, which we all have to one degree or another, is actually cultivated through meditation. It may be active in some, and to varying degrees, dormant in others.

The four types of extrasensory perception include clairvoyance, psychokinesis, telepathy and precognition.

For as much as we know about the “outer” senses, and even the physical “inner” senses, precious little is known about ESP or even how our intuition works.

Or is it known and has been kept a secret from the general populous, lest we “catch on” to what we are actually capable of as human beings?

Pineal Secrets Revealed

As promised, let’s take a look at what information treasures can be gleaned from an exploration of the pea-sized gland that lives in the very centre of your brain.

You’re going to want to read this article. Trust me.

Allana Ketler of http://collective-evolution.com, published the following article on November 26, 2019, wherein she explores the work of Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt.

Dr. Klinghardt is Founder of the Klinghardt Academy (USA), the American Academy of Neural Therapy, Medical Director of the Institute of Neurobiology, and lead clinician at the Sophia Health Institute, located in Woodinville, Washington.

He is also Founder and Chairman of the Institute for Neurobiology in Germany and Switzerland.

The Klinghardt Academy (USA) provides teachings to the English-speaking world on biological interventions and Autonomic Response Testing assessment techniques.

Here’s a link to the article:

https://www.collective-evolution.com/2019/11/26/8-minute-video-of-a-doctor-explaining-the-pineal-gland-its-destruction-by-toxic-chemicals/

And here’s a brief excerpt from it to wet your whistle, if you haven’t already clicked on the link and devoured it.

“The pineal gland, which is also known by many cultures as the third eye or the seat of the soul, is located in your brain and many believe that this is the gateway to the after life. Dimethyl-tryptamine (DMT) is produced here naturally and is released in small amounts when we dream and when we die…

Dr. Klinghardt says, “The pineal gland is the most sensitive part of our central nervous system and it is highly sensitive to 4 things: aluminum, glyphosate, fluoride and WiFi.”

At the Third International Symposium on Vaccines in March 2014 and as part of the 9th International Congress on Autoimmunity, MIT scientist Dr. Stephanie Seneff gave a presentation titled “A Role for the Pineal Gland in Neurological Damage Following Aluminum-adjuvanted Vaccination.”

In conclusion, the researchers state:

“In this paper, we have developed the argument that glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide, Roundup, and aluminum, a pervasive toxic metal in our environment, operate synergistically to induce dysfunction in the pineal gland leading to the sleep disorder that is characteristic of multiple neurological diseases, including autism, ADHD, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, anxiety disorder and Parkinson’s disease.

We further argue that impaired supply of melatonin and sulfate to the brain as a consequence of pineal damage can explain how the disrupted sleep can lead to more general neurological damage, and we propose that this is a significant component of the disease process.

The steady increase in glyphosate usage on corn and soy crops aligns remarkably well with the increase in sleep disorder and in autism, as well as other neurological diseases.

We have shown how disruption of CYP enzymes and promotion of anemia and hypoxia, due to both aluminum and glyphosate, and disruption of gut bacteria by glyphosate, can cause a pathology leading to deficiencies in both melatonin and sulfate in the cerebrospinal fluid that is characteristic of autism and Alzheimer’s disease. Insufficient sulfate leads to impaired lysosomal recycling of cellular debris, and insufficient melatonin leads to sleep disorder, vascular disease and impaired protection from ROS damage in the brain.”

If that isn’t enough to make you want to find out more about this on your own, I don’t know what is.

Clearly, we are being HUGELY adversely affected as our pineal glands calcify through chemicals used in our food and water sources.

TIME TO WAKE UP, OLD SOULS.

A friend who I follow in LinkedIn, Steve Larouche, is a brilliant intuitive, who recently began to see the world in a whole new way, through the perfect and indisputable world of numbers and numerology.

From one of his recent posts:

EYE OF HORUS. 575.66.8{693}1. [17]8.[66].[27]9. (8669)>{{83}} >>>11<<<ENERGY

THE PINEAL GLAND. 285.795513. 73154. [15]6.[75][12]3.[20]2. (632) >>>11<<<ENERGY

SEE IT ALL. 155.92.133. [56]11.[11].[34]7. (11117) ({22}7)>29 >>>11<<<ENERGY

Feel free to draw your own conclusions from that. As Steve always says, “The numbers don’t lie.”

The following is an excerpt from https://ourwonderlife.com and addresses the pineal gland as the ancient “Eye of Horus” and sheds much light on the current plight of our third eyes, much like was stated earlier by Dr. Klinghardt:

“The Pineal Gland was revered during the Egyptian times as the Eye of Horus for a reason, because it is the Seat of the Soul. You can see the Eye of Horus clearly outlines the Pineal Gland.

“’My view is that this gland [the pineal gland] is the principal seat of the soul, and the place in which all thoughts are formed.’” – Rene Descartes (1596-1650), French mathematician, writer and philosopher, wrote in his book “Treatise of Man”

Intuitive feelings are felt with your gut, as they say gut feeling, and heart. Your inner (higher) self communicates to you in these areas, by giving us a FEELING that something is not quite right or feels right.

The Pineal Gland is where the intuitive Intellectual information comes through, where the Feelings you get are backed up with reasons. The pineal gland contains a photoreceptor just like our two seeing eyes, such that it can perceive light. Here you receive Light (which can carry & is) information, transmitted to you from your higher self and over souls.

Crazy, well that’s exactly how fibre optics that carry sounds and brings you the internet work, they send information coded in a beam of light down the cables.

third-eye-buddha ourwonderlife.com

The Pineal Gland is also where you can perceive / see things like Energies. The Ancients knew this and thus it is called ‘the third eye’ also referred to as the Ajna Chakra.

The third eye chakra is honored in many cultures including Hindu, Druidic, Judaic, Islamic, Taoist, Mayan, Tibetan, Egyptian, Greek and Aboriginal, seen as responsible for spiritual consciousness, intuition and insight. Your soul is multi-dimensional, so through greater connection thought the Pineal Gland, you can achieve multi-dimensional vision.

Being able to perceive through here, enables it to be a “stargate” or pathway between the physical and metaphysical dimensions.”

Well that’s a whole new level of SENSE PERCEPTION that will one day be available to us. I believe that with all my being. And it won’t be long before it is.

The Stages of Sensory Change in Meditation

We first find ourselves, as is the human condition, involved with and fully committed to living through our outer senses.

Gradually, an awareness develops of being self-aware, much like “The Eye of the I” by David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., which describes and explains advanced states of consciousness and the way to spiritual Enlightenment.

It’s this awareness that I like to call “the silent passenger”; the one who dwells deep within, and is always present and at the ready to be connected with, communicated with or communed with.

With time and effort, it is the silent passenger, or our awareness, that will call us away from our outer senses, pulling us and itself along with us, inward, to begin an exploration of the SELF through the inner senses.

This, leading eventually, to a spiritual exploration and eventual UNITY with all that is.

Then, it begins again.

With the gradual movement away from full engagement with the outer senses, we begin to move through explore the sense of “being” , through “propioception” the sense of “presence” and the sense of interoception.

In an article entitled, Interoception and Stress”, it was stated that “Afferent neural signals are continuously transmitted from visceral organs to the brain. Interoception refers to the processing of visceral-afferent neural signals by the central nervous system, which can finally result in the conscious perception of bodily processes.” Here’s a link to that excellent article:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4507149/

Ultimately, interoception is becoming aware of the body’s functions, like the breath, the slow rise and fall of the chest, the beating of the heart, the presence or absence of hunger or thirst, aches and pains, and the comfort or discomfort of the body as it sits in meditation.

The next stage involves the sensation of falling or floating for many, as our awareness slips deeper into meditation.

For me, it is always the same; my head falls backward ever so slightly, and I am unleashed onto another consciousness and new, deeper energetic connection to all that is, through the subtler, inner senses of grades or shades of awareness unfolding.

Always unfolding, never remaining static, always growing, morphing, making room for more and more aspects of awareness to fill the beautiful, wondrous and endless void that is the human meditation experience.

There is then a deeper awareness of the self; often lights, images, flashes, faces, feelings will come us, then going deeper and deeper still…

Then there are the thoughts that come up. The planning, the promise-making to self, or whatever mind processes arise, as is the natural byproduct of calming the mind in meditation.

Then we catch ourselves in thought, succumbing to the call to revert back to the outer senses.

So we start again, releasing those thoughts, allowing them to float by like clouds in the sky, as we once again make our way back to the inner senses and awareness and communion with our silent passenger.

This cycle typically reoccurs every 15-30 seconds in those new to meditation, and approximately every 60-90 seconds in more experienced meditators.

The Never-ending Journey Within

Meditation is all about the never-ending journey within.

A journey that continues to reveal deeper and deeper layers of truth, a meaning and a “knowing” that is beyond all understanding.

Welcome to your never-ending journey to the realms of pure awareness and bliss through the gift of our physical senses.

It is indeed a great blessing and opportunity for us to explore through them in a physical vessel.

Next week, we’ll talk about the higher self and the soul, and how they differ from the silent passenger, as we delve deeper into the more esoteric aspects of meditation.

In the meantime, we need to cultivate RESILIENCE in order to keep our body/mind/soul vehicles in ship shape.

Cultivating Resilience in SUPER CHALLENGING TIMES

Resilience is the ability to adapt positively to changes, challenges and adversity.

As one of the most vital coping skills for surviving in the workplace, at school, or anywhere in the world, resilience enables you to be more flexible, more adaptable and far better able to cope with whatever life may throw your way.

Resilience is a learned behaviour and can be improved by regular practice, much like learning a sport or learning to play a musical instrument.

Cultivating meditation helps build the resilience to quiet the mind during times of adversity with a calm assertiveness, enhanced emotional agility and cognitive flexibility to achieve better and more positive life outcomes.

As such, this week’s Guided Meditation is entitled “Building Resilience”.

I wrote it specifically for college and university students in the United States, after I was commissioned to create it by Dr. Rose Gantner, Author of Workplace Wellness.

It came to Dr. Gantner’s attention that tragically, the suicide rate of college and university students in the US had skyrocketed, and she was determined to do something to help.

And that’s when she reached out to me and I created the Building Resilience Guided Meditation.

It’s not just for college and university students: it’s for anyone who wants to have a quick creative visual to take away when times get TOUGH or CHALLENGING, and you need to strengthen your “core” resolve.

Here’s a hint: it involves a tree, some mountains and a storm. Spoiler alert: the tree remains standing strong and even more resilient to the storms that continually try its resolve and constitution. Try it on… You’ll like it!

Why Meditation is Like Cultivating a Garden & Do Cats Meditate?

Yes, I know it’s only February in “We the North”, and we have quite some time to go before we see the likes of crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils, or even one tiny tulip, push its way up through the frosty loam to receive its first kiss from the sun.

There is, however, a kind of garden we can cultivate all year long, no matter where we lay our hats. It is the garden within, cultivated through the practice of meditation.

And it’s all based on proven science. Lots of it.

University of California (UCLA), Laboratory of Neuro-imaging Research Results

Californians know from gardening, and Chardonnay, but I digress. 😉

There are more than 30 types of soil in the Napa Valley itself. This, however, is about a whole different kind of gardening, rather meditating. Same thing.

Here’s why.

In 2012, researchers at UCLA’s Neuro-imaging lab found that long-term meditators have have larger amounts of gyrification or “folding” of the cortex, which may allow their brains to process information faster than than the brains of those who don’t meditate.

Another exciting area that received growth was the central back part part of the brain, called the “insula” or “insular cortex”.

Researchers took MRI scans of 50 meditators; 28 men and 22 women; and compared them to 50 control subjects matched for age, handedness and sex. The meditators practiced regularly in different forms of meditation; Samatha, Vipassana, Zen and other forms.

What provided “the edge” (more about that later) in this study was that there is a DIRECT LINK between the increase of folding in the brain to the amount of years of meditation you have under your belt.

The image above compares meditators of more or less than five years and more or less than one year. The difference in that short period of time is remarkable.

A Significant Growth in Brain Folds – Where Compassion Grows

The gains found in the UCLA study were largely located in the outer-front part of the brain called the cerebral cortex, which has the key role in functions of memory, attention, thought and awareness.

The folds of the brain are like “root highways” in the earth, carrying vital information to the plant life they support. The thicker the roots, the more nutrients they provide. The more nutrients they provide, the better the yield.

Area of the brain that processes empathy identifiedBrain Journal

An article published by ‘Science Daily’ in 2012, revealed that “an international team led by researchers at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York has for the first time shown that one area of the brain, called the anterior insular cortex, is the activity center of human empathy, whereas other areas of the brain are not. The study is published in the September 2012 issue of the journal ‘Brain’.

Empathy, the ability to perceive and share another person’s emotional state, has been described by philosophers and psychologists for centuries. In the past decade, however, scientists have used powerful functional MRI imaging to identify several regions in the brain that are associated with empathy for pain. This most recent study, however, firmly establishes that the anterior insular cortex is where the feeling of empathy originates.”

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/10/121024175240.htm

The corollary here is straight-forward. The more you meditate, the more empathy you cultivate. The more empathy, the more compassion. The more compassion, the better the human being.

And that’s why meditation is like gardening; It grows beautiful, heart-centred, compassionate people. Proven fact.

Here’s an excerpt from the actual study:

Bridging the hemispheres in meditation: thicker callosal regions and enhanced fractional anisotropy (FA) in long-term practitioners

Source: NeuroImage 2012 May;61(1):181-187.
Author: Luders E, Phillips OR, Clark K, Kurth F, Toga AW & Narr KL

Abstract:
Recent findings suggest a close link between long-term meditation practices and the structure of the corpus callosum. Prior analyses, however, have focused on estimating mean fractional anisotropy (FA) within two large pre-defined callosal tracts only. Additional effects might exist in other, non-explored callosal regions and/or with respect to callosal attributes not captured by estimates of FA. To further explore callosal features in the framework of meditation, we analyzed 30 meditators and 30 controls, carefully matched for sex, age, and handedness. We applied a multimodal imaging approach using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in combination with structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Callosal measures of tract-specific FA were complemented with other global (segment-specific) estimates as well as extremely local (point-wise) measures of callosal micro- and macro-structure. Callosal measures were larger in long-term meditators compared to controls, particularly in anterior callosal sections…”

Here’s an excerpt from yet another UCLA research paper published around the same time as the one above by Eileen Luders, except this time she has a different team working with her. This time, they explored the frontal brain matter of long-term meditators.

The underlying anatomical correlates of long-term meditation: larger hippocampal and frontal volumes of gray matter

Source: Neuroimage 2009 Apr;45(3):672-678.
Author: Luders E, Toga AW, Lepore N, Gaser C
PubMed ID: 19280691

Abstract:
Although the systematic study of meditation is still in its infancy, research has provided evidence for meditation-induced improvements in psychological and physiological well-being. Moreover, meditation practice has been shown not only to benefit higher-order cognitive functions but also to alter brain activity. Nevertheless, little is known about possible links to brain structure.

Using high-resolution MRI data of 44 subjects, we set out to examine the underlying anatomical correlates of long-term meditation with different regional specificity (i.e., global, regional, and local). For this purpose, we applied voxel-based morphometry in association with a recently validated automated parcellation approach.

We detected significantly larger gray matter volumes in meditators in the right orbito-frontal cortex (as well as in the right thalamus and left inferior temporal gyrus when co-varying for age and/or lowering applied statistical thresholds). In addition, meditators showed significantly larger volumes of the right hippocampus.

Both orbito-frontal and hippocampal regions have been implicated in emotional regulation and response control. Thus, larger volumes in these regions might account for meditators’ singular abilities and habits to cultivate positive emotions, retain emotional stability, and engage in mindful behavior.”

Clearly, the data is out there to support the notion that meditation is GOOD FOR US. In more ways than we could have ever imagined.

Here, we’re just looking at a few aspects of physiological and emotional benefits meditation offers; we haven’t even BEGUN to explore the deeper, more esoteric and spiritual elements of a daily meditation practice.

Beginners, take heart!

If you’re new to meditation, or contemplating starting a meditation practice, that’s GREAT! Think of all of the above as CONFIRMATION of the amazing benefits of daily meditation you will soon be directly experiencing as you maintain your practice!

The Ocean of Bliss that is Meditation

To those who have tasted the sweet “manna” or nectar of sublime connectivity and ONENESS through meditation, you already know exactly what I’m talking about.

Chenrezig, in Tibetan Buddhism, embodies the Infinite Compassion of the Awakened Mind. Exploring a simple Chenrezig practice, along with mantra recitation, can not only expand one’s view beyond their own boundaries of self-reflection, but can also develop a greater sense of compassion for themselves and others, including an ocean of bliss beyond compare.

Let’s acknowledge the fact that there are as many roads to that “ONENESS” (however one defines it for themselves) as there are spiritual seekers on that road throughout the galaxies, and the Tibetan Buddhist path is but one of them.

I’m going to get a little personal here. Hopefully my sharing will bring some insight into how we are all ONE, in essence. Unique, yet still, and always, ONE.

Many years ago, I myself was, much to my own surprise as I was not seeking it out, “welcomed back” to the Tibetan Buddhist faith by a Rinpoche (an incarnate lama or highly respected religious teacher), who told me that my Tibetan name was “Yeshe Yangtsom”, and that the name meant “luminosity of wisdom”.

I had come to hear the Rinpoche speak at the request of a friend, and because he stared at me all night, my friend said we should go up and speak to him. I did so reluctantly, because the whole thing seemed very unfamiliar to me.

It was then, just as I met him, that he asked one of his accompanying monks to tie a red string bracelet around my wrist. And that’s when he said, “Welcome home.”

As grateful as I was for the enlightening encounter, it occurred at a time in my life where I was firmly ensconced in duality, and my good Catholic upbringing and general spiritual ignorance prevented me from understanding the relevance of it, and I just tucked that information away. Frankly, I didn’t give it another thought.

Much to my surprise, many years after that, I met another Rinpoche through a fortuitous string of events, with whom I developed a friendship over time, albeit through an interpreter.

During one of our visits, he explained the philosophy and science behind how he could take a smallish rock into his hands and meditate over it, and within about 5 minutes it would change its state and become so hot, it could sear skin.

Which is exactly how he generated enough money in his travels to support an orphanage and a monastery back home in Tibet.

Said stone he would apply to various body parts of the sick or wounded that regularly lined up to receive his healing in all the cities he regularly traveled to around the world.

I myself experienced the “sear” of the hot rock, the Rinpoche’s mantras and prayers, and the spontaneous disappearance of the back pain that had ailed me since I gave birth to my daughter, 15 years earlier.

This along with witnessing my friend Julia’s wrist pain disappear immediately, along with the wrist brace she arrived wearing to see the Rinpoche – straight into the garbage, as she exclaimed, “Well, I won’t be needing THAT any more!”

The Rinpoche’s explanation as to how he achieved his hot stone healing capability was brilliant. First, it had to do with the fact that it took him 15 years of solitude, in meditation in a cave, to develop and harness the ability.

Second, that it was through praying for the spontaneous healing of the afflictions of ALL OTHERS who had the same affliction as the person who came to him for healing, that the healing could occur. And it did, over and over again, right before my eyes.

This second Rinpoche, during one of our visits, also asked me if I wanted to know my Tibetan name through his interpreter. Keep in mind, this is about 20 years after the first Rinpoche asked me the same question, as mentioned earlier.

I said, “yes, please”, half forgetting that I’d already been to this picture show with the first Rinpoche. He said, “Your name is Yeshe Yangtsom, luminosity of wisdom.” And I said, “that’s what the other Rinpoche said!” And he said, “that’s because that’s who you are!”

They both also said that I was the reincarnation of the third Dalai Lama’s master student; the current Dalai Lama, HH Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso, being the reincarnation of the third Dalai Lama. Go figure…

I’m also from a long, and I mean long…… line of Catholic clergy. About 400 years worth. And my dearly departed mother’s Godfather, the Blessed Nykyta Budka, is a beatified Saint. https://www.crc-canada.org/en/biographies/bienheureux-nykyta-budka/

All I can say is that I described my “take” on that dichotomy in a poem I wrote some years back. Here it is.

into the light, acrylic on canvas by Renata Duma, 2011

what is the colour of my love?

it is not simply the Buddhist’s saffron robe, the monk’s gray habit or the Swami’s orange shawl.

it has not one language, one religion, one doctrine or one faith. it is not merely the blessed blue sky, the golden sunset or the lush, green meadow.

it is not only the rosy blush on a child’s cheek, the ruby red lips of passion, or the deepest hazel eyes of one in love.

it is not simply the butterfly’s crimson wing, the zebra’s stripes or the gray-white wings of a dove.

it knows no boundaries of earth, or sky, or sea, or wind. it recognizes not the black clouds of malice, anger, fear or oppression.

it delights in laughter, devotion and simple acts of kindness.

it knows not one creed, one way or one definition. it exists in life everlasting, in every breath and in every beating heart.

it’s companions are truth, compassion and the beauty in all things.

it is “love-begetting” love, manifested through love, belonging to no one and everyone alike.

and so, the colour of my love, you see, is none but the reflection of You, my sweet Lord, in me.

Regardless of who I may or may not have been once upon a time, today, here and now, I’m just me… Renata. And I’m passionate about meditation – and healing the world – through the world healing itself through it.

In the words of the brilliant light and soul, James Gilliland, best-selling author, internationally known lecturer, minister, counselor, multiple near -death experiencer and contactee, who I had the honour to meet a few months ago, and who I was just listening to a few moments ago on his internet radio show, As You Wish Talk Radio

“when you become ONE with nothing, you are everything.”

And THAT just made my heart sing. Thank you James, for all you are and do to raise the consciousness on the planet. Namaste to you…

Coming up next!

In next weeks Blog, we are going to explore the Pineal Gland and the secrets yet to be revealed to us about it, how it’s being damaged by toxins in our environment, and the true nature of our own 12-strand DNA, of which only a fraction is currently activated.

Oh, and to those out there who call what is, as of yet, human dormant DNA, “junk DNA”, I have news for you: it’s about as much “junk” as vibranium is to the Black Panther, the citizens of Wakanda and Captain America. 😉

So please stay tuned!

Speaking of healing, this weeks NEW Guided Meditation is “Healing the Mind and Body”.

And speaking of meditation being like cultivating a garden, the creative visualization in this Guided Meditation uses the healing power of water, nature and the rainforest to help you heal and nurture your body/mind/soul complex back to optimum health.

Oh, and just one more thing!

Do Cats Meditate?

I haven’t researched this extensively – YET. But I can tell you, it sure looks like it to me.

Here’s my darling Mala, mid meditation (and at only 6 months old too!), in one of her favorite meowditation positions… 😉

I did recently read, however, that cats use their purring abilities to effectuate calm and relieve stress.

Almost like a form of chanting in meditation practices, purring helps a cat achieve peace.

Unfortunately, we humans don’t have a built-in purring mechanism like cats, so I guess we’ll just have to settle for MEDITATION to achieve peace! What a great idea! 😉

As always, Happy Meditating!

…and “Meowditating”, of course, to all my feline friends.

Why Meditation.Works: The Infinite Power of a New Perspective

Uncategorized

Thank you for joining me on the meditation journey of a lifetime!

Welcome, once again, to the NEW Meditation.Works Blog Spot, where it’s a whole new world of meditation, brought to you Meditation.Works style!

Last week I talked about the“Gotta GO, Gotta DO!” mindset we’ve been conditioned to believe is essential to a life well lived – NOT! – and the resultant, mostly discordant 100,000 thoughts that go careening through our minds every day like balls of whizzing snakes.

I also talked about the fact that this mindset keeps us enslaved by the illusion that we’re actually human “DOINGS” and not the amazing, 12-stranded human “BEINGS” we actually are slowly waking up to become.

I trust you took that information to heart and were more “Human BEING” than “Human DOING” last week, and that you found time to rest and rejuvenate YOU through whatever means you require, and that your meditations, whether Guided or not, have brought you the results or answers you’ve been seeking.

Or at least a “new perspective” on an old or current situation you haven’t been able to solve or resolve as of yet.

The Infinite Power of a New Perspective

It occurred to me, just this week, after seeing a familiar photo of a place on Earth that I know well, taken from a different angle or different perspective. It was so different, in fact, I didn’t even recognized the place.

Here’s that photo:

That got me thinking that meditation is a lot like that, in essence. Both Guided and Non-Guided Meditations. And it’s all about cultivating an “inner perspective” on the outer world – and what ails you – to help you sort yourself out. Let me explain.

The NEW Guided Meditation I’ll be releasing today to my YouTube Channel, in both 15 and 30 Minute Versions, entitled, “Cultivating Clarity and Concentration”, has within it a particular tried-and-true method of clearing negative and distracting thoughts and emotions that get in the way of your absolute clarity and acute concentration capabilities.

It is, most likely, a different way of approaching overcoming negative thought-forms and emotions than you have ever tried.

It is also providing you with a new perspective on something you may or may not have thought you could even do. As such, this Guided Meditation will have indeed “altered your perspective” in order to see a situation more clearly.

Here’s a more typical photo of the bird’s eye image that eluded me, above. It is none other than the breathtaking Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, France. It’s a magical tidal island that’s topped by a gravity-defying medieval monastery, and is among France’s most stunning sights. For centuries it was a major pilgrimage destination for spiritual seekers from all over Europe. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is its breathtaking bay.

Once again, it’s all about the perspective something affords us, and with a new perspective, comes clarity, a most sought-after state, given our typically clouded vision, due to that “Human DOING” mindset mentioned above.

Take heart! There’s a solution to obtaining clarity on your imminent horizon… and here it is!

The Cultivating Clarity and Concentration Guided Meditation

The Cultivating Clarity and Concentration Guided Meditation, in both the 15 and 30 Minute Version, can be found on the Guided Meditations Page of this Blog, or you can simply click on the links found below and get instant access to them.

The Cultivating Clarity and Concentration Guided Meditation works through the magic of creative visualization, which is actually more scientific than magical, but I like to think it’s a certain “kind” of magic we can all call upon and use at any time to improve virtually any area of our lives – or the lives of others.

The Guided Meditation asks you to visualize “…a deep-purple, translucent and magnificent, swirling spiral of light, the circumference of your outstretched arms and twice your height…

Whenever negative or stressful thoughts, memories or emotions present themselves, you can surrender them to the brilliant purple spiral. The spiral’s purpose is to melt away the negative energy of those thoughts, memories or emotions, thereby removing their negative impact on you, so you no longer feel stressed or anxious…

The negative or distracting thought or emotion will likely not reappear to you again, or at least be less destructive the next time it does because yo have surrendered it to the spiral…

The spiral is one with your higher mind, or higher self, which has the ability to cognate and synthesize brilliant ideas, receive intuition and inspiration and neutralize negative thoughts. You have given your higher mind permission to diffuse what was causing you stress and anxiety, and have allowed for the clarity necessary for the perfect solution to make itself apparent to you. You are now no longer clouded over by negative thinking and solutions come to you easily…”.

Tonight’s “Super-Bright Snow Moon” – February 1, 2020

It wouldn’t be Meditation.Works Blog Post if I didn’t mention what’s happening in the heavens above. Especially that ol’ moon (or is it really a “moon”? More on that in upcoming posts). It has such a profound effect on all of us, especially when it’s FULL, or SUPER-FULL, like NOW.

According to the NY Post, “A full moon being hailed as a “super snow moon” is sure to get spectators howling when it hovers in the sky Monday night into Tuesday morning — because it will be the biggest and brightest of the year.

The sky-gazing spectacle — the biggest event since last month’s “super blood wolf moon eclipse” — will feature a supermoon, meaning the moon is both full and at its perigee, the point in its orbit where it’s closest to the Earth, Space.com reported. The event will officially occur in the morning, but when the moon crosses the night sky, it will be brighter than at any point of the year, or even until 2026, according to Forbes.

The moon will be 221,734 miles from Earth, around 17,000 miles closer than average. And, because 100 percent of the moon’s surface will be illuminated by the sun, it will appear 30 percent brighter and 14 percent larger than normal, according to the site.

The term “snow moon” has historically been given to the second full moon of the winter, when more snowfall is recorded, by some Native American tribes, according to NASA.”

What better time to take advantage of cultivating your precious inner light when the moon is at it’s biggest and brightest!

The Snow Moon’s and the New Perspective it Brings

Speaking of a “new perspective on things”, I’d like to share most of a wonderful post I found about tonight’s Virgo Full Snow Moon, as it’s already started to pack quite an emotional punch.

According to Tanaaz, the brilliant and intuitive astrologer who aims to use her writing to heal and inspire, and creator of https://foreverconscious.com:

“Looking at the world through our higher mind definitely gives us a new perspective, and allows us to see beyond our own egos.

The light of this Full Moon is going to be so strong, and the pull of its energy is going to be intense that we will have no other choice but to open up.

The contents of our lives will be released and exposed, we will be cut open, and free to see what is really brewing on the inside.

This exposure and release can happen on a mind, body, spirit level or on a combination of all three.

On a mental level, this Full Moon is going to be exposing all that we need to release and let go of. While this is typical for most Full Moons, on this Virgo Moon we are specifically going to be encouraged to let go of repetitive thoughts, over-thinking, worries, and fears of the future.

To help us with this, the Universe may stir some of our core fears, or agitate some of our beliefs in order to help bring awareness and exposure to them.

Most of us have fear lurking in the corner of our minds and hearts and, while this is part of our human experience, the more conscious we can become of our fear, the more it helps us to know when it is driving our decisions or when it is simply in the background as a way to protect us.

Fear can be healthy in reasonable doses, but most of us are over-driven with fear, which keeps us stuck in repetitive patterns and in a lower vibrational state.

On this Full Moon, work on becoming aware of your fears. Acknowledge them. Stand them down. Pierce them with your gaze straight to their core, for doing so will loosen their grip on your life.

Sometimes, all you have to do is become aware of where you are operating with fear and the rest will follow.

The Universe is saying to you – ‘release the fears that hold you back and bond you to these earthly illusions. On the other side of your fear is everything you have ever wanted, everything you have ever dreamed of. Your fears are not to be ignored, but rather they are to be challenged. Rise up to them, for you are strong enough, and the power of this Moon will be helping you.

On a physical level, this Full Moon may also put a spotlight on your health. If you have not been looking after yourself, or if you have been ignoring any lingering symptoms, it is going to be important to take action around this Full Moon.

Self-care is always so important, but on this Full Moon we really have to pay attention and look after our physical bodies as much as possible. A huge part of this is also practicing self-love, and accepting our bodies no matter what, even if we are faced with illness or disease.

Our bodies are the vessel that we have chosen to carry our soul through this earthly journey. The shape of our body, the state of our body is the perfect vessel for the lessons and growth that our soul is here to do. Honor your body, honor any perceived flaws, and know that you are perfect.

Allow the light of the Moon to shine down on your face and soak up the healing vibes it emits. Allow the light of the Moon to beam straight into your core, so it can recharge your energy centers, awaken your soul, and revitalize your body.

On the deepest soul level, this Full Moon is helping to awaken our potential within. This Full Moon is helping to crack us open so we can see beyond our beliefs and into a new reality.

We perceive our reality to be a solid, three-dimensional world, but for those who have expanded their mind and awareness, it is easy to see that there are dimensions beyond this, life beyond this, and realms beyond this.

Life is not only what we see, there is an unseen world too, and if you open to the Moon’s energy, if you allow its light to shine straight through your soul, you will be able to awaken this awareness and see that life can be imagined and lived in far more detail, in far more vivid color, and with far more magic.

The Meditation.Works Cultivating Clarity and Concentration Guided Meditation is a perfect one to do tonight, in the light of the full moon, as it encourages you to release all negative thoughts and emotions that are standing in the way of your crystal clear clarity, fierce concentration and the boundless inspiration you will connect with as a result!

Gotta GO! Gotta DO! The Insanity of the Human "DOING"

Uncategorized

Thank you for joining me on the meditation journey of a lifetime!

Welcome, once again, to the NEW Meditation.Works Blog Spot, where it’s a whole new world of meditation, brought to you Meditation.Works style!

That “Gotta GO, Gotta DO!” thinking and the 100,000 thoughts that go careening through our minds every day like balls of whizzing snakes – keep us enslaved by the illusion that we’re actually human “DOINGS” and not human “BEINGS”.

It was the great American writer, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., author of Slaughterhouse 5, who first coined the phrase, “I am a human BEING, not a human DOING.”

Later on, it was widely used by the late, legendary, best-selling author and self-help guru, Wayne Dyer, who added to that borrowed phrase,“Don’t equate your self-worth with how well you do things in life. You aren’t what you do. If you are what you do, then when you don’t… you aren’t.”

Either way, it’s a powerful reminder of who, rather WHAT, most of us have become: “Human DOINGS”.

Mostly, we run around like screaming chickens (due mostly to no fault of our own – see next paragraph), playing ONEUPMANSHIP with one another, trying to “OUT-BUSY” the other, as if the measure of our greatness is just how jammed our calendar is.

I have just one word to say to that: PHOOEY.

Frankly, every “crazy-busy” person I’ve ever met isn’t anywhere near being happy, in any way, shape or form. Most are burnt out and in denial about “creating their own crazy-busy”, as they undoubtedly do.

They’re mostly addicted to it and measure their self-worth by just how “busy” and therefore “important” they are.

They would never allow themselves the luxury of, as wise Italian folks advise, “Il dolce far niente…”, or “The sweetness of doing nothing”…

Whenever I hear that phrase, I’m always reminded of the great scene in the film, Eat, Pray, Love. It’s where Liz Gilbert, played by Julia Roberts, is on a journey to find herself, ultimately through establishing a meditation practice at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in India.

On her way there, she stops off in Italy, where she has an encounter with a local, Luca Spaghetti, who says to her, “You Americans, you get burned out! Then you come home and spend the entire weekend in your pyjamas in front of the TV!…”.

Liz’s Language Coach adds, “‘…il dolce far niente’… Means ‘the sweetness of doing nothing’. Italians are masters of it.” Luca’s monologue ends on a tad racy, yet funny, note. However, no less true of not just of Americans, but of everyone who runs on “non-stop crazy-busy”.

“Doing nothing” is a form of meditation. Not “formal” meditation per se, but it sure beats doing the “non-stop crazy-busy” thing!

The very BEST thing to do, however, if you want to experience the big-time benefits of daily meditation that include an instant 40% reduction in stress and anxiety; the swifter attainment of any goal you may set for yourself; becoming more compassionate; becoming aware that you can DIRECTLY contribute to raising the consciousness on the planet through raising YOUR OWN, then you need to…

…become “UN-BUSY”…JUST STOP EVERYTHING! And meditate! It’s that simple.

I just came across this AMAZING website… BRAVO! Now That’s the spirit!

https://becomingunbusy.com

Sadly, “BECOMING UN-BUSY” and “JUST STOPPING EVERYTHING AND MEDITATING” seems as much counter-productive to us as it seems counter-intuitive.

This is true of most of us, given the social engineering humanity has endured at the hands of the prevailing, yet slowly crumbling, anti-human agenda that’s been perpetrated on humanity for thousands of years.

The “agenda” I’m referring to is the one where we’re taught, encouraged, even molded to be human Gotta GO! Gotta DO! “DOINGS”, who have forgotten our true value and immeasurable strength, and are kept completely in the dark about the full genetic capabilities of human kind! More about that – and about other ways we’ve been socially engineered en masse – in future Posts.

The Moral Imperative to Meditate

I strongly believe it’s our “moral imperative” to meditate, and teach our children how to meditate as well.

More on that, too, in upcoming Posts, as I intend to create Guided Meditations for Children, Teens and Elders in the very near future. In fact, I’m THRILLED to be able to create Guided Meditations for everyone… for the highest and greatest good – and FUTURE – of all!

It’s also our moral imperative to cultivate our precious connection to our “silent passenger” or “higher self” through meditation.

It’s the silent passenger or higher self that really should be in the driver’s seat if we are going to achieve our highest potential.

When we’re playing “Human DOING”, it’s the ego that’s running the show, and leading us astray, or “down the garden path”, as they say.

The “higher self” or “silent passenger” needs to be allowed to have a voice, and to be heard by you. This, so you can be guided to act based on positive inspiration and impulses, for your own highest and greatest good, and that of others’.

It sure is a “mad, mad, mad, mad world” out there. Even madder than when this photo was taken of the Carlton Theatre in Toronto in the early 60’s. Image courtesy of The Toronto Star.

Goodness knows WE NEED CHANGE, and it isn’t going to come about through the same thought processes that created the situation in the first place.

In the words of the late, great Albert Einstein, The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”

The only way to actually change our thinking is by changing our brain through the ground-breaking neuroscience discovered, over the past 30 years or so, through the observation of individuals meditating in clinical settings.

In a wonderful article by Sigal Samuel, published just a few days ago, entitled Are we morally obligated to meditate?, Sigal says, “A growing body of neuroscience research shows that meditation can make us better to each other...

Starting in 2005, Harvard neuroscientist Sara Lazar began to publish some mind-blowing findings: Meditation can literally change the structure of your brain, thickening key areas of the cortex that help you control your attention and emotions. Your brain — and possibly, by extension, your behavior — can reap the benefits if you practice meditation for half an hour a day over eight weeks

A host of other studies showed that meditation can also change your neural circuitry in ways that make you more compassionate, as well as more inclined to have positive feelings toward a victim of suffering and to see things from their perspective.

Further research suggested that meditation can change not only your internal emotional states but also your actual behavior. One study found that people made charitable donations at a higher rate after being trained in meditation for just two weeks. Another study found that people who get that same measly amount of meditation training are about three times more likely than non-meditators to give up their chair when they see someone on crutches and in pain.”

In short, here’s my heartfelt advice: Practice STOPPING letting your THINKING THINKING THINKING thoughts control you and turn you into a “Human DOING”! Even if it’s just for a few milliseconds at a time in meditation. Do that and you will quickly regain your “Human BEING-NESS”!

Here’s a link to full article that’s definitely worth a read:

Being LIGHT

Being Light, exquisite art by Andrea Mancarella; http://andreamancarella.com

It’s time, great ones, to create a new paradigm on Earth; one that’s far closer to the truth of all things, and that will actually help us grow in leaps and bounds as individuals and as aspects of the ONE that we are.

That is to start recognizing and gaging the amount of LIGHT one carries within. The more light they carry, the more you will want to interact with them, share with them, be with them, create with them…

I am sure you have met a person that just seems to radiate light. Perhaps it was a teacher or caregiver you once had, or it could have just been the man who once sold you an ice cream cone in the park.

They don’t have to be great saints or sages, just human BEINGS who have cultivated their light within through whatever form of meditation is “meditation” for them, knowingly or unknowingly.

All we know is that we just WANT to be around them, to bask in their energy that we just can’t seem to get enough of.

Now THAT’S a worthy fundamental pursuit, and what a wonderful world it would be if it really WAS every human being’s CORE pursuit?

To those who are able to carry only a little light at present, we wish them a swift journey to the light of “enlightenment”. That is to become apprised of all things, and regard them, always, in a supportive and non-judgemental manner, while continuing their journey to the light. Eventually, we all end up returning home to it eventually. Thankfully.

Seeking the LIGHT Within

As I mentioned in last week’s Post, “In meditation we seek out and celebrate the light within, the sacred essence of ourselves as “people of the light”; our soul light, that burns ever brighter the more we cultivate our connection with it through the ancient and vital practice of meditation.

As conscientious meditators, we do this so we may continually raise the vibration of our beautiful planet, and live in PEACE and in love, together, here, as ONE, for as many days as Mother Gaia and Creation affords us.

Meditation.Works: Guided Meditations that WORK!

Any one of my Meditation.Works Guided Meditations will take you on a meditation journey you will never forget, given all the incredible insights and experiences waiting for you just behind YOUR EYELIDS in meditation.

So please remember, when you find your mind careening and spinning out of control, just become UN-BUSY, STOP EVERYTHING AND MEDITATE!

If all else fails, “Be the Rubber Duckie”, like I said in my last Post, just floating on the waves in meditation, without a care in the world!

Just remember, you are a beautiful HUMAN BEING that’s evolving into an even more beautiful HUMAN “BEING” with every in-breath and out-breath – and certainly not a HUMAN “DOING”!

Last But Not Least, GOOD NEWS!: The Heavens are Looking UP!

Once more, from astrologer extraordinaire, Phil Booth of http://boothstars: “The NEW Moon occurs on Friday, January 24th, 2020, at 4:42 PM EST.

On Friday afternoon, the New Moon occurs, marking the beginning of a new cycle. In the sign of Aquarius, friendship, brotherhood, group activities, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, humanitarian efforts, or joining a group will be a strong focus on a personal level. New beginnings regarding all of these matters are possible now.

This is a time during which we should solve problems that require thinking “outside of the box”; look to the future with a brand new, positive, and hopeful vision; brainstorm and socialize; focus on extending a friendly hand, receiving support, and expressing platonic love for those around us; give our emotions and passions a “break”, as we develop more objectivity and some detachment from past haunts; learn how something (or someone) works; revitalize ourselves through experiences that are new or simply different; reach out to people in our social circle and in our community, and recognize the value of our friendships and social networks; recognize that some level of detachment and distancing ourselves from our habits and attachment to the past will help us break away from destructive behaviors that are holding us back. With this potent Aquarius energy, we have the chance to make progressive changes in our lives. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to these matters. This New Moon’s square to Uranus suggests a rebellious time when abrupt moves are possible. We’re especially concerned with progress and freedom now. All major planets are direct, and there appear to be fewer blocks to progress.

Remember, just 15 minutes of meditation a day is enough to actualize the multiple benefits of daily meditation, which are really countless, as each person experiences the effects of it in the way they most need to – which is truly magical – alongside reaping the other physical, psychological and emotional benefits that daily meditation has to offer, of course.

This Week’s Guided Meditation

Announcing this week’s Guided Meditation:“Breathing and Inspiration” . Here are direct links to it:

Guided Meditation, “Breathing and Inspiration” – 15 Minute Version:

Guided Meditation, “Breathing and Inspiration” – 30 Minute Version:

This Guided Meditation links the breath with “inspiration” (which is, in fact another word fro breathing), so you can easily slip into an open state of awareness and be more open to receiving inspiration!

Here’s a brief excerpt from the Guided Meditation:

Human beings breathe in oxygen in order to live and give off carbon dioxide in order for plants to live. In this symbiosis, plants, humans and animals co-exist in a ‘give and take’ process known as ‘mutualism’.

Another term for breathing is ‘inspiration’. The word ‘inspiration’, from the Latin word ‘inspirare’, means ‘to breathe into’. Today we know the act of being inspired can occur at any moment and be applied to any aspect of life, be it a creative or work endeavor.

If you afford your mind the space it needs to become filled with inspiration, much as you do when you breathe and allow your lungs to be filled with air, true inspiration can occur...”

THRIVING in Saturn-Pluto Times and "Being the Rubber Duckie!"

Uncategorized

Thank you for joining me on this meditation journey of a lifetime!

Welcome, once again, to the NEW Meditation.Works Blog Spot, where it’s a whole new world of meditation, brought to you Meditation.Works style!

Welcome also, once again, to the powerhouse and challenging energies of the New Year 2020, and what is proving to be a supremely transformational Decade for all Planet Earthers!

In this month of January, all around the world, we celebrate the light from without that radiates from our glorious sun as we maintain our trajectory and perpetual dance around it, in gratitude for sustaining all life on Earth for yet another year.

In meditation…

…we seek out and celebrate the light within, the sacred essence of ourselves as “people of the light”; our soul light, that burns ever brighter the more we cultivate our connection with it through the ancient and vital practice of meditation.

As conscientious meditators, we do this so we may continually raise the vibration of our beautiful planet, and live in PEACE and in love, together, here, as ONE, for as many days as Mother Gaia and Creation affords us.

Thriving in Challenging Saturn-Pluto Times

Just a few days ago, Canadian Astrologer extraordinaire, Phil Booth, of http://boothstars.com, wrote that “the Full Moon Lunar eclipse in Cancer last Friday, January 10, amplified a confluence of epic celestial activity such as the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, Mercury rounding the far side of the Sun and the crescendo in the revolutionary and unpredictable energy of Uranus. The power of these configurations cannot be underestimated.

On Monday this week, the Sun catches up to the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. At the same time, Venus will enter spiritual Pisces. This will pave the way to getting some deep insights into a massive shift in your inner world. You’re likely to receive powerful dreams that will present you with intriguing symbolic images that make no sense at first.

As always the case with symbols, give them time to reveal their meaning. Listen carefully to your breath and the sounds around you. This needs to be done now more than ever. Your inner sure of wisdom will translate these symbols. You’ll notice that your usual reactions to events in your life will begin to change. As your inner world goes through a transformation, your outer world of mater will reflect these changes.”

Have YOU Been “Marked”?

As I wrote last week, the Saturn-Pluto conjunction promised to “Mark” each and every one of us, namely to bring a life-altering occurrence, one that after which, we would never be the same again, like the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a job, or a friendship.

Or it may have signified the death of your belief system, the end of a social construct you have made it a part of your life to partake in, or the shocking realization that things “out there” aren’t what they have seemed to be for such a long time.

Or, as I also mentioned, it could signify the time we fall in love, make a life-long commitment to someone, have a child, graduate from college or university, or begin a meditation practice – which has the capacity to both “mark” and change us in more ways than are imaginable.

Personally, I’ve already been through the wringer, especially since the 13th this month, as I myself have already experienced 3 of the above (not saying which ones!) and that’s just in the last 48 hours since Saturn and Pluto hooked up for the first time since the last time in history, which apparently, heralded the American Revolution!

There isn’t anyone I know who isn’t experiencing some sort of HUGE shift or challenge in their lives, and I know several who are REALLY getting put through said wringer, with several huge challenges on their plates!

On the upside, I’ve also felt felt a profound inner shift; a new steadfastness, renewed determination and a feistiness I didn’t know existed within me, which I can only chalk that up to the Saturn-Pluto hook-up – and other shifting energies occurring now on Earth. More about that in upcoming Posts!

Meditation RX to the Rescue!

Honestly, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way, and that’s if it wasn’t for my daily meditation practice, breathing exercises and going “inside” in meditation, finding my “best and highest self” and surrendering to it in all matters (as it truly knows what’s aligned with our path and what egos construct is holding us back), and getting back to centre, STOPPING the incessant thoughts that ceaselessly reel in my mind, (even for just brief increments at times), that cause my stress, and therefore cortisol levels, to skyrocket, I’d have probably not have gotten through the last few days as well as I have, despite the trinity of heavy duty challenges that just transpired in my life.

Like I said, there’s a new steadfastness, feistiness, and the total absence of fear moving forward.

If you’re feeling anything at all like that, you’re definitely aligned with, and are sensitive to, the stars and planets movements.

Just Say “No Thanks” to Fear!

The absence of fear (an egoic construct, whose only value is triggering fight or flight when you are in a life-threatening situation) is one of the biggest blocks we experience to full freedom and the end of human suffering.

It is also one of the more esoteric and byproducts of a regular meditation practice.

The more we meditate, the more we cultivate our relationship with our fearless “higher self” or “silent passenger”, as I like to call it. And the more we cultivate that relationship, the closer we are drawn to the full realization of our ultimate truth.

And it is up to each and every one of us to discover what that ultimate truth is – through meditation.

Simply said, if we cease having fearful thoughts, we will not create situations to be feared. It’s really that simple.

That doesn’t mean things will stop happening in your life that may illicit a heightened response from you. Those things will always happen.

The difference will be made in responding to these events CONSCIOUSLY, rather than reacting to them UNCONSCIOUSLY, and allowing fearful thoughts to run amok and take over our emotional, physical and mental state completely, we surrender to the “higher” aspects of ourselves, that are far greater, far stronger and far more resilient than your ego or any egoic construct ever was or could ever be.

This is spiritual mastery. Not unattainable. Just requires the intention – and meditation to get there. Can’t you just TASTE the freedom?? I know you can!

“Be the Rubber Duckie!”

Meditating immediately reduces stress and anxiety by 40%, and if you consistently meditate and teach yourself to go there as a default – even for JUST 1 FIERCELY INTENSE MINUTE OF GOING INSIDE – you could potentially live STRESS FREE.

Before you think I’ve gone mad with the Rubber Duckie pics, hear me out!

My beloved spiritual teacher used to say, “Be the Rubber Duckie!” And of course, I couldn’t stop laughing the first time I heard her say that! Until, of course, I got thinking about the it…

The Rubber Duckie remains the Duckie… and no matter the size of the waves or the motion of the water, just keeps on floating with that peaceful expression, letting each wave pass under it without a care in the world!

Can’t you just see yourself as the Duckie? In fact, that’s a great idea for a Guided Meditation, and I’ll have to create one on “the Duck” soon!

In the mean time, in these borderline insane Earth times, when things get a little kookier, spookier, freakier, weirder or just more challenging than you feel you can handle, STEP 1: Breathe! and…

…visualize “BEING the Rubber Duckie!”, serenely floating on the waves, smiling, paying no attention to the turbulent waters below. And you don’t have to tell ANYONE that’s what you’re doing. 😉

You’ll still benefit 100% from that serenity visualization, even if it’s for just a few moments, and help yourself get through whatever challenges come knocking on your bathroom – or otherwise – door.

And STEP 2: Breathe again! (Always remember breathing… It’s GOOD! Lol…)

Cultivate the practice of responding to these events CONSCIOUSLY, rather than reacting to them UNCONSCIOUSLY, and allowing fearful thoughts to run amok and take over your emotional, physical and mental state completely.

With a steady meditation practice, I guarantee you you will find both your ultimate truth, end personal suffering and find your full freedom.

This Week’s NEW Guided Meditation: “The Stress and Anxiety Buster”

LINK 1: “The Stress and Anxiety Buster” – 15 Minute Version:

LINK 2: “The Stress and Anxiety Buster” – 30 Minute Version:

Another strategy is, of course, to listen to this week’s NEW Meditation.Works Guided Meditation. It’s called the “Stress and Anxiety Buster”. The links are above and on the Guided Meditations Page in this Blog Site. You can also find link to it on my Instagram page at Meditation Works.

Goodness knows, we’re all stressed out to the max.

The WHO (World Health Organization) declared stress to be a global epidemic in the early 2000’s. I think we can safely say it’s at least doubled, if not quadrupled, or even sextupled since then, if not more.

If we could just STOP… give our whirring, buzzing, perpetually thinking minds a break, HUGE changes WILL ensue. Please don’t say you don’t have TIME to meditate… Honestly, you can’t afford NOT to meditate. And that’s what I’m determined to communicate to the world through this Blog. More about “STOPPING” in next weeks Blog.

As I say in the Guided Meditation, There is no need to “DO” anything while meditating. Rather it is more a process of “un-doing”…

Here’s the key: No matter how many thoughts play in your mind or how many different feelings surface, do not be daunted by them. Everyone has thoughts and feelings that play on their mind…

When thoughts come up, as they will, simply acknowledge them, be grateful for them, then let them go. Or you can imagine they are clouds floating by in the sky, high above you…”

Stressful Events Will Continue to Ensue

As described earlier when I talked about STEP 2 and CHOOSING to RESPOND rather than REACT to stressful situations with a fear response that takes over your life, as I also say in the Guided Meditation, “A person who ‘reacts’ to an event or situation has given the event or situation control or power over them. They are reacting physically, emotionally and psychologically, in varying degrees of intensity, to their own detriment, and usually make poor choices as a result, that are based on heated or hurt emotions.

The person who ‘responds’ to an event or situation is taking a step back, breathing through their reaction phase, taking time, acknowledging the relevant importance of the event or situation, putting it in perspective, and understanding or ‘assessing’ what exactly it means to them emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

The key words here are ‘breathing’, ‘putting things into perspective’, then ‘assessing’ what the body is saying about that situation through the feelings of stress and anxiety that arise...” There’s much more on that in the Guided Mediation itself, so please tune in and help yourself de-stress, with ease!

In the end…

…it is in this way, and in this way only, through introspection, breathing and meditation, that we are able to process our human stress.

And that is another reason why meditation is a moral imperative, in my opinion, given the state of the world. Goodness knows WE NEED CHANGE, and it isn’t going to come about with the same thought processes that created the situation that needs changing in the first place.

Practice stopping letting your thoughts control you, even for a few seconds or moments at a time, and learn how to achieve your goals and aspirations in SPITE OF THEM.

Any one of my Guided Meditations will take you through that process, and also gently take you on a meditation journey you will never regret, given all the incredible insights and experiences that are waiting for you just behind your eyelids when you close your eyes in meditation.

So please, remember to just STOP and meditate! You are a beautiful HUMAN BEING that’s evolving into an even more beautiful HUMAN BEING, and certainly not a HUMAN DOING! More about that in next week’s Post.

And be the Rubber Duckie! It always works in a pinch! Many thanks again to my beloved teacher for that!

Remember, just 15 minutes of meditation a day is enough to actualize the multiple benefits of daily meditation, which are really countless, as each person experiences the effects of it in the way they most need to experience them – which is truly magical – alongside reaping the other physical, psychological and emotional benefits that daily meditation has to offer, of course.

Meditation.Works Guided Meditations in 15 and 30 Minute Versions make it virtually effortless to incite real change for the better in your life. Please share this post and a link to our Guided Meditations with anyone you feel could benefit from – and be open to – meditation and manifesting one’s dreams. Who wouldn’t want that, right?

1.12.2020: The Higher Mind & Meditation, & Making Way for the "WOW"!

Thank you for joining me on the meditation journey of a lifetime!

Welcome, once again, to the NEW Meditation.Works Blog Spot, where it’s a whole new world of meditation, brought to you Meditation.Works style!

Welcome also, once again, to the powerhouse energies of the New Year 2020, and what is shaping up to be a supremely transformational Decade for all Planet Earthers!

This entire month, more than ever, all around the world, we celebrate the light from without that radiates from our glorious sun, as we maintain our trajectory and perpetual dance around it, in gratitude for sustaining all life on Earth for yet another year.

It is fitting to bring Guided Meditations to the world at this time, as in meditation, we seek out and celebrate the light within, the sacred essence of ourselves as “people of the light”; our soul light, that burns ever brighter the more we cultivate our connection with it through the ancient and vital practice of meditation.

We do this, that we may continually raise the vibration of our beautiful planet, so we can live in PEACE, and in love, together, here, as ONE, for as many days as Mother Gaia affords us.

1.12.2020: Brace Yourself

As if the off-the-charts, energetically powerful “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse that occurred on December 26, 2019 wasn’t enough to shake things up,  “The Great Transformation”, marked by the Saturn-Pluto conjunct on 1.12.2020 is upon us, just hours away as I write this Blog.

It promises to “mark” EACH ONE OF US, namely to bring a life-altering occurrence, one that after which, you will never be the same again on all levels of your being.

This event need not necessarily be potentially negative, like the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a job, a friendship, it may signify the death of a belief system you’ve held – nay, defended – the end of a social construct you have made it a part of your life to partake in, or the shocking realization that things “out there” aren’t what they have seemed to be for such a long time.

It could also be the time you fall in love, make a life-long commitment to someone, have a child, graduate from college or university, or begin a meditation practice – which will DEFINITELY both “mark” and change you in more ways than you can possibly imagine.

As I write this, JUST NOW, I got a pop-up on my phone from a really wonderful astrological app that my daughter, who herself is an accomplished astrologer, suggested I get. It’s called “The Pattern” and I highly recommend it. This is the a brief synopsis of what it says for today, 1.10.2020:

“The next few days are highlighting a kind of conflict that has been building for the last 5 years; this level of tension hasn’t appeared for nearly 700 years.

It’s becoming more and more clear that the current man-made rules of the world – including laws, hierarchies, and regulations – are going against the organic cycle of life. It’s like the operating manual that has been in place is contradicting the natural order of things.

This underlying energy is unprecedented in our time, and it’s meant to create upheaval and change the established cultural norms. It’s an important moment for transformation to occur, although many people will want to hold on to the old ways of doing things.

You may notice this resistance in your personal life or in world events. It’s like there’s a battle between the posers that want to maintain order and the forces that seek to destroy it. Although this may be an intense time, it’s a necessary moment, because it’s emphasizing the fact that the natural order of things can no longer be ignored.

This time is an opportunity to confront the structures that have been in control. This includes your inner critic as well as designated authorities and people in power in the world. This combination of two very different forces is so powerful that it can create a kind of clarity – where all of humanity can see that things can’t continue the same way anymore.

During this time, you might ask yourself, “In which areas of my life do I feel hopeless and helpless that anything will change?” And, “What controls me and the world around me in negative ways?” and, “Am I ready to help change the underlying structures that are unfair and create mistrust?”

Ideally, you’ll recognize this moment as a tipping point, where you’re able to identify what needs to radically change in yourself and in the world around you. Open yourself up to the transformation that’s possible now. The time period will last another 3-4 years.”

Synchronicity City!

Well, if I never believed in synchronicity (even though I do, totally!), this would have totally blown me away, to quote the vernacular! It’s one of those grace-filled moments that tend to occur the closer you get to your higher self and connected to all there is, through cultivating those connections through meditation…

Here I am, about to publish this week’s Guided Meditation on “Manifesting Abundance”, wherein I talk about the fact that no matter what anyone says or has ever said about manifesting abundance, we can no more DIRECTLY control outcomes in our lives any more than we can redirect lightning. And that we can, however be open to receiving and managing the abundance that is best for our highest and greatest good – which is LIMITLESS…

In order to do this, however, we must first become conscious of negative thought patterns, which make up around 80% of our thoughts. Becoming self-aware through meditation and self-observation is the key to curbing negative thought patterns that block abundant outcomes.

And that’s exactly what “The Pattern” (that popped up, just as I began to write earlier today) talks about when it addresses the “inner critic” and what we need to do to change. Remember, it asks, “During this time, you might ask yourself, “In which areas of my life do I feel hopeless and helpless that anything will change?” And, “What controls me and the world around me in negative ways?” and, “Am I ready to help change the underlying structures that are unfair and create mistrust?”

In short, “The Pattern” is urging us, in this time of great astrological upheaval, to look within and identify negative thought patterns, so that WHEN WE COME THROUGH THIS paradigm shifting1.12.2020 herald, and by gum, WE WILL COME THROUGH IT, we will no longer be crippled with negative thought patterns running amok all over our lives, blocking the magnificent abundance – that is available for our highest and greatest good – that is just waiting for us to receive it in our lives!

I just LOVE IT when stuff like that happens! So great! Now more about the higher mind and meditation, as promised in last week’s Blog.

Here’s a link to the Manifesting Abundance Guided Meditation – 15 Minute Version:

Here’s a link to the Manifesting Abundance Guided Meditation – 30 Minute Version:

The Higher Mind and Meditation

Aside from the physical, emotional and intellectual benefits of daily meditation – even just 15 minutes of it a day – there is another even more important reason to meditate, which is very, very exciting indeed! In order to explain it properly, however, let’s take a step back and take a look at life from 10,000 feet, as they say.

Few of us feel fulfilled in our lives, sadly, because we have not yet fully embraced and learned how to wield the power of our intentions. More on that in a later post.

For now, just bear with me, and let’s do some creative visualization: Right now, just for a moment, imagine living the life you always dreamed of, and attaining the success you’ve worked so hard to achieve, and living that life in abundance, joyfully, in peace, with great enthusiasm for whatever endeavours you wish to undertake – with the right tools to manage stress so it never affects you adversely again.

Close your eyes and do that now for at least 17 seconds. Having done that, does that picture really seem so far-fetched to you?

What if I told you the only thing standing in the way of that coming true is YOU? Yes, you. And why would that be?

Because you’re not using the most powerful tool you possess to its greatest advantage – and that tool is your “higher self”, “higher mind”, or “Silent Passenger”.  The higher mind has the capacity to unleash your full potential and fulfil your every desire – when you know how to work with it to your greatest advantage.

Here’s the Key!

The key to manifesting; the secret to making it work, is after you meditate and FEEL the state of having whatever it is you desire, is to get out of the way and allow it to happen or to come to you!

Most humans spend 90% of their time wanting something, and are continually communicating their sense of lack to the universe, ergo, getting back the same lack, creating an endless loop of lack, and ultimately, suffering.

Stay in neutral receiving mode for 90% of the time and only do your 17 second mediations on what you desire for 10% of the time. That’s the correct ratio for manifestation.

Also, you can’t allow doubt to creep in or allow negative thoughts to overcome you. If you do, you’re blocking the natural, superb outcome of your desire. The visual equivalent of that is building an impenetrable 100 foot tall wall around yourself, with your self in the middle, scratching your head, wondering why your desire isn’t manifesting.

You see, it’s all the same to the universe, which absolutely must comply with your wishes, so if you’re in doubt and in negativity, it will give you more things to doubt and be negative about.

Do your 17 second visualizations where you are FEELING the incredible high from actually having achieved the things you desire, and then WHOOSH! Get out of the way and step into grateful receiving mode and watch your desires begin to manifest, right before your very eyes.

That’s another reason meditation is so important – so very powerful – because it’s a way to detach yourself from those thoughts and just be present and in the moment (in grateful receiving mode) and allow your higher mind to take over and just observe the workings of the mind, with EASE and without judgement.

Always remember to be mindful of your breath and of any tension you may be holding in your body – and just be with it – and breathe through it – and bring a new awareness to yourself – a sense of calm, of peace, and positivity.

The rest, you will find, will unfold far more effortlessly than you could ever imagine, because you’ve prepared the way for great things to manifest – to unfold for you – for your “silent passenger” or “higher mind”, who is the REAL you – the higher part of you – your consciousness or “inner I”, that that steps to the forefront and becomes activated the moment you close your eyes and begin to meditate – with or without a Guided Meditation (both work equally well) – and allow thoughts – any thoughts – to just float on by like clouds in the sky.

Thich Nhat Hanh, Zen Master and global spiritual leader, poet and peace activist, revered around the world for his powerful teachings and bestselling writings on mindfulness and peace, said this about meditation: Meditation is not evasion; it is a serene encounter with reality”. He is the man Martin Luther King called “An Apostle of peace and nonviolence.” His key teaching is that, through mindfulness – and meditation – we can learn to live happily in the present moment, which is the only way to truly develop peace, both in all aspects of one’s self and in the world.

So through that “serene encounter with reality”, or meditation, you now have the keys to manifesting your desires – be they what they may – for yourself or for the world. It doesn’t get better than that.

Thank you for joining me on the meditation journey of a lifetime!

Welcome to the NEW Meditation.Works Blog Spot, where it’s a whole new world of meditation, brought to you Meditation.Works style!

Welcome also to the powerhouse energies of the New Year 2020, and what is shaping up to be a supremely transformational Decade for all Planet Earthers!

I’ve chosen this most auspicious time to launch this NEW Meditation.Works Blog Site, my Inaugural Celebratory Blog Post, and NEW Instagram Page and YouTube Channel.

It is my sincerest wish that the Guided Meditations I offer, and all the information I bring forward across all these platforms, helps all meditators GET INTO and STAY IN meditation – with ease!, and inspires them to either begin – or renew – their devotion to their meditation practice in as many unique and insightful ways as possible.

All this, ultimately, to contribute significantly to the elevation of consciousness on the planet through individuals of ALL ages, through their healing, experiencing personal transformation; be it physiological, psychological, emotional or spiritual, and raising their vibration and frequency – through the art – and science – of meditation.

Here’s to NEW BEGINNINGS!

In celebration of today’s multi-level launch, I am offering you not just one, but two of my Guided Meditations, totally FREE, namely, Expressing Love & Gratitude, or ‘LOVITUDE‘, and The Beginner’s Guide to Meditation, in 15 and 30 minute versions.

I’m hoping you will listen – and ENJOY – and instantly start benefitting from all the incredible and varied benefits meditation has to offer!

FYI, I will be uploading a NEW Guided Meditation here, and on my YouTube Channel, every week. They will ALL be absolutely FREE for you to benefit from. And if the spirit moves you, please feel free to share them with others who you feel might benefit from them!

Meditation.Works is all about helping individuals GET INTO and STAY IN meditation, so we can ALL benefit from the abundant, scientifically proven goodness that comes forth from a daily meditation practice – not just individually – but in our local and global communities…

…because in the case of meditation, it truly is, “the more the merrier”!

WELCOME 2020!

January 1, 2020 heralds not only a New Year of great changes on our planet, it also heralds a greatly anticipated era of profound change, transformation and a great spiritual upliftment, leading to a new, more elevated level of consciousness on planet Earth.

It’s precursor was a magnificent, off-the-charts, energetically powerful “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse that occurred on December 26, 2019.

As Elizabeth Wilcock wrote in her wonderful Invoking New Beginnings Blog: http:// elizabethwilcock.com, “Historically, solar eclipses are associated with life-altering changes that activate your karmic destiny.

The Sun in astrology is associated with our outer personality, our goals and ambitions, our health and career.

The changes that a solar eclipse brings have a fated quality about them that affect these and other personal areas. The changes may arrive in a chance meeting, a change in career, or a change in how you choreograph your day, as a few examples.

Solar eclipses are known to bring rapid change, and are portals for accelerated growth.”

As Susan Miller wrote for http://astrologyzone.com, “Eclipses are dramatic “wild cards” in our horoscopes. They are some of the most dramatic tools that the universe uses to get us to pay attention to areas in our life that need to change. They uproot us, surprise us, and get us moving.”

Thanks to both Elizabeth Wilcock and Susan Miller for the incredible work they put forward on the planet, so we may all benefit from it.

So if all the above isn’t enough already, the annular solar eclipse of December 26th also heralds the alignment of Pluto and Saturn peaking later in January 2020, when our spiritual growth will be greatly accelerated, at which time we will need to learn how to thrive in the new high-vibrational energy, within which we will all be ascending, in varying degrees, into into higher and higher levels of consciousness.

So where am I going with all this? That’s SIMPLE: All this leads to the absolute necessity of…

A MEDITATION REVOLUTION!

With all that’s going on energetically – and otherwise – there’s never been a greater time to be on planet Earth, and neither has there been a time when a MEDITATION REVOLUTION has been more needed!

Meditation.Works is here to simplify and facilitate meditation for , newcomers to meditation, seasoned meditators, and those who are interested in beginning a meditation practice, so individuals, REGARDLESS OF AGE can GET INTO and STAY IN meditation, WITH EASE… and BALANCE the mind and body, achieve all their physical, emotional and spiritual goals, and help negotiate the multifold rapid changes that 2020 heralds!

I am deeply honoured for the opportunity to serve in this way, and to help bring as much light to our beautiful planet Earth as possible, through YOU connecting with YOUR INNER BRIGHT LIGHT – through the proven science, magic and POWER of meditation!

About

I’m Renata Duma, and I’m ecstatic to launch this new Blog Site and share this, my Inaugural New Year’s 2020 Celebratory Meditation.Works Blog Post with you, as it has been my life-long dream to share my Guided Meditations, as well as share information about all the prodigious benefits meditation has to offer, with you – and the WORLD!

As a life-long meditator, I’m someone who has seen, first hand, the incredible power of meditation in countless positive outcomes in my own life (one of them being having cured myself of a debilitating, chronic disease through meditation and exercise in less than 6 months… more about that in future posts)!

I’ve also seen, many, many time, and first hand, people heal spontaneously after meditating. The last occurrence was just this summer, when I guided a meditation for a dear friend lakeside, as we wanted to send our intentions of rain to the rainforest, which was at that time, tragically, burning. It was a beautiful meditation, invoking Gaia’s love and assistance, which we both felt very profoundly.

The next morning, the friend I meditated with called me and was completely overjoyed… She had had a chronic health issue for over 20 years that was greatly diminishing her quality of life. She told me that she awoke with it GONE that morning! Now THAT’S the power of pure intention – and meditation, and I call that a REALLY GOOD day. 🙂

Besides being a Mindfulness Meditation Instructor and a fierce champion of meditation for 35+ years, I’ve devoted thousands of hours to creating and sharing my Guided Meditations, on many inspirational, motivational and transformational subjects, with the world since 2012, through my original Meditation.Works website.

So, what’s on the Blog Menu?

In this Meditation.Works Blog, I’ll regularly guide meditation beginners through the meditation experience and offer helpful insights and tips on all aspects and kinds of meditation, and provide the knowledge you need to help get you comfortable with meditating, and perhaps experimenting with various forms of meditation, to see what works best for you, so you can benefit the most from your meditation practice.

If you’re already a seasoned meditator, or somewhere in between, there’ll be plenty to discover in my Blog as well!

We’ll be exploring some of the more esoteric (or hidden) aspects of meditation, such as tantric meditation, breath work, Tibetan Rainbow Body Meditation, and the incredible travels and teachings of Padmasambhava, which is a fascinating subject, among many other subjects.

We’ll also be looking into all forms of meditation and how they can benefit you specifically. That’s including an in-depth exploration of Vipassana meditation, mindfulness meditation, spiritual meditation, focused meditation, movement meditation, mantra or japa meditation, and transcendental meditation.

The list is endless, and I’m more than happy to take your suggestions on what topics you’re like to explore! Feel free to contact me through the Contact form on this site, to share your suggestions, questions or comments. I’ll be happy to hear from you!

As a meditator of 35+ years, and Mindfulness Meditation Instructor, I will also be sharing little-known meditation secrets with you that will help enrich and expand your daily meditation practice in ways you never thought possible or attainable!

We will also explore relevant subjects of interest to meditators… like what the best posture to meditate in is, setting up your personal meditation space, and meditation do’s and don’ts, among many other helpful subjects.

And I will continually encourage and inspire you to maintain a regular meditation practice, so you can keep living life at an optimum level!

I will also be interviewing spiritual adepts and Meditation Masters, and sharing their insights with you, so you can benefit from their wisdom and guidance. I’ll also be sharing many mystical and meditation “aha” moments as experienced by myself – and by others, as they share their meditation experiences with me (if they say it’s ok, of course!).

Heads UP!

Here’s some exciting news!

Very shortly, I’ll be releasing an AMAZING line of Meditation Support Materials to further enhance the meditation experience for meditators of all ages, including a unique and unusual (wink, wink!) line of Meditation.Works T-shirts that will WOW you, and you won’t want to be without! More about that as we get closer to the launch date.

Coming UP!

In my next Blog Post, entitled, “Why Meditate? An Introduction to the Higher Mind and Meditation”, I’ll be sharing some important information on the benefits of meditation that go beyond the physical, emotional and intellectual benefits of just 15 minutes of daily meditation, as well as what’s preventing you from creating and living the life you’ve always wanted to, but can’t quite seem to manifest… Maybe not yet, anyway, but after you read that post, the sky will be the limit!

Guided Meditations for You!

Since this is my Inaugural New Year and Decade 2020 Celebratory Blog Post, and in the spirit of celebration and new beginnings, as mentioned earlier, I am releasing not one, but TWO Guided Meditations to you today!

Here are the links to my FIRST TWO FREE Guided Meditations, The Beginner’s Guide to Meditation, and Expressing Love & Gratitude, or ‘Lovitude’. If you’re new to meditation, all you have to do is close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let my voice guide you gently and softly into a beautiful meditation, and keep you there – in bliss – while you benefit 100% from all the magnificent physiological, psychological, emotional and spiritual benefits meditation has to offer!

Link 1 is for the 15 Minute Version and link 2 is for the 30 Minute Version of both Guided Meditations.

What’s the difference between the 2 versions?

Both versions contain the same amount of Guided Meditation dialogue. The longer version allows for a deeper and even more rewarding meditation experience, as it gives you more time to meditate to a beautiful musical soundscape, while still allowing you to experience the message of the Guided Meditation itself!

If you only have 15 minutes to meditate, that’s GREAT, because you only need 15 minutes a day of meditation to benefit from its many physiological, psychological, emotional and spiritual positive effects. You will find, however, the longer you meditate, the greater and more varied the benefits you experience will be – especially in the long run. It’s totally up to you!

The important thing is to just GET MEDITATING, and benefitting 100% from all the man and mighty benefits meditation offers!

You can also find ALL Meditation.Works Guided Meditations in the “Guided Meditation” Section of this Site, or directly on YouTube @ Meditation Works.

Oh! Just one more thing!

Introducing Mala, my 5 month old kitty, who came into my life in a most surprising and auspicious way just a couple of months ago… More about that in a future Blog Post!

She’ll be contributing regularly to this Blog, as I make “Meditating with my Mala” a regular practice… She has much to contribute! 😉

Here she is helping me put the finishing touches on today’s Post, making sure I get things JUST RIGHT!

As always, till next week, Happy Meditating!
